OMNI to Incorporate Futures Literacy for Next-Generation DoW Learning

Washington, D.C. – OMNI announced a new initiative focused on predictive educational design, grounded in Futures Literacy, into its Digital University (DU) platform. This effort strengthens the Department of War’s ability to anticipate and prepare for emerging learning and readiness requirements.

As a part of this effort, OMNI is collaborating with a leading military academic institution to co-develop the academic framework, curriculum model, and analytics approach that supports the Futures Literacy capability.

This initiative centers on developing a next-generation learning analytics capability within DU, leveraging data-driven foresight methodologies. The goal is to generate predictive insights that help defense organizations prepare talent for rapidly evolving operational environments.

As warfare continues to shift across domains such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, cyber operations, and autonomous systems, the need for future-aligned educational design has never been greater. Futures Literacy provides the framework for understanding how learners engage today while forecasting the knowledge, skills, and behaviors they will need tomorrow.

DU already captures rich learning data, including engagement trends, content progression, time-on-task metrics, and interaction pathways. By pairing these data streams with futures-mapping techniques and strategic foresight tools, OMNI aims to help DoW learning enterprises identify emerging competency needs, optimize curriculum pathways, and design training that evolves in step with the future force.

This initiative supports the DoW’s broader vision for modernized, data-informed education, enabling organizations to shift from reactive curriculum updates to proactive capability development. The integration of futures literacy competencies within DU underscores OMNI’s ongoing commitment to building resilient, adaptable, and future-ready learners across the defense ecosystem.
